The day I hoped

Sitting there, I laugh and smile
Thinking all the while

About where this is going
When the church bells ring

You laugh and say, "My favorite time."
I ask, "Why?"

You take my hand
And start to stand

I jump off the sill
You say, "I'll show you, I will."

You lead me to my door
Then turn to me and calll me a dork

I laugh and smile
You stay for a while

May be it wasn't the day I hoped for
But somehow I got what I hoped for
